This is an original textile artwork in which a butterfly seems to emerge from — and simultaneously dissolve into — a richly patterned botanical world. Its wings are assembled from floral, ornamental, and abstract fabric fragments in deep navy, golden ochre, cream, green, rust, and touches of lavender. At first the butterfly appears bold and monumental, yet the longer you look, the more its patterns merge with the surrounding textile landscape. This interplay between visibility and concealment gives the artwork an intriguing symbolic quality, evoking transformation, camouflage, change, and the hidden beauty that reveals itself only through closer attention.
Technique: Art quilt (textile collage). Fabric fragments are sewn by hand and with a sewing machine.
The work is done in the unique author's technique. Textile art is perfect for gift, also suitable for different spaces including entryway, living room, kid's room. Wall art is great for home decor.
